Many clays contain Crystalline Silica, a fine dust that can be released during:
- Mixing dry clay or glazes
- Trimming or sanding dry pieces
- Cleaning up clay dust without proper methods.
Breathing in silica dust over time can cause Silicosis, aserious and irreversible lung disease. Even small amountsof dust, if inhaled regularly, can pose a risk.Protect Yourself:
✅ Use wet paper towel to wipe down work surfaces.
✅ Wear a mask when dust exposure is possible (through sanding, filing, gridning etc).
✅ Work in well-ventilated areas.
✅ Clean floors with our wet vacuum or wet mop—never dry sweep.
✅ Wash hands and face after working with clay.
✅ Do not eat or drink whilst working with clay.
STAY SAFE. STAY HEALTHY. SILICA DUST IS INVISIBLE—PROTECTION ISN’T.
